Doug Sexton, known affectionately to many as Dougie, passed away on May 16, 2026, in West Carrollton, Ohio, due to illness. Born on June 28, 1943, in Goodrich, Michigan, Doug squeezed every drop of joy out of life, chasing the fun in every moment while surrounded by the family he loved deeply and the many friends he gathered along the way.
Doug graduated from Trotwood High School. He was a proud Teamster for 25 years. Doug brought warmth and humor to every room he entered. He was a fun-loving soul with an outgoing personality who could easily light up a space with his presence.
Doug’s family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy, and their children Jeff Sexton, Brandon Sexton, and Trisha Crawford. He also holds a special place in eternity alongside his son Nate Sexton. His siblings who stand by his memory with love are Darlene Garrett, Bill Sexton, Viola Ali, Alice Roberts, and Kay Sexton. The joyful ripple of his life is carried forward by seven grandchildren (Taylor, Matt, Lindsey, Jeff, Conner, Caleb, Zach) three great-grandchildren (Madi, Ella, Aubrey) and a host of nieces and nephews who all carry pieces of Doug’s joyful spirit.
Doug had many passions. A keen interest in all things mechanical colored much of his life, especially his love and fascination for motorcycles and cars. None knew British motorcycles as thoroughly as Doug. He was a legendary storyteller, meaning his stories were hilarious (many times to only him), sounded vaguely wise, and were almost certainly completely made up.
He was always ready to lend a helping hand, needed or not, to family and friends. Those fortunate enough to know Doug remember a man whose generosity was matched only by his joyfulness, energy and kindness. His stories, his laughter, and his enthusiasm for life will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
Doug Sexton leaves behind a legacy of a life fully embraced and soulfully lived. He will be forever missed but never forgotten.
The family will conduct a Celebration of Life Ceremony at a later date.
