Listen to Obituary

Douglas Jackson Ramey, lovingly known as "Jack," passed away on June 12, 2026, in Beavercreek, Ohio. Born on November 18, 1949, in Princeton, West Virginia, Jack's life was marked by dedicated service, warm generosity, and cherished friendships that touched many hearts.

Jack devoted 25 years of his life to serving in the United States Navy, a commitment of which he was immensely proud. His military service was more than a career; it was a defining chapter filled with adventures and stories that he eagerly shared with all who would listen. After his honorable retirement from the Navy, he continued to serve his community by working with the Mad River School District, where he again dedicated himself until retirement. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. His commitment to both his country and community reflected the deepest values of kindness and care.

Beyond his professional life, Jack was a man who valued connection and simple joys. He found peace and happiness in fishing and golfing, hobbies that allowed him to embrace nature and camaraderie. Those who knew him recall a good man—kind, caring, and generous—a devoted brother and an incredible friend. His spirit of warmth and dependability was a steadfast presence, bringing comfort and laughter to those around him.

Jack’s life was shared with beloved family and dear friends. He is survived by his sister, Brenda Stanley; treasured friends Jim and Nanette Pack, and Philip and Carmen Swim; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who carry forward his legacy with love. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lexie Kaye Stevens; parents, Claude and Naomi Ramey; brother, David Ramey; niece, Tammy Stanley; and nephew, Paul Stanley.

Memories of Jack are rich with tales of his naval life and travels—each story a testament to a life well-lived and a heart open to adventure and connection. He leaves behind a profound sense of gratitude and love, echoing the depth of who he was to his family and friends.
