He enjoyed not just watching but also sharing his love of sports, particularly as a coach for his son’s baseball team—a role he cherished and took great pride in.

Doug's interests reflected his down-to-earth, approachable personality. He found peace and serenity in fishing, appreciating the quiet moments spent by the water, and these pastimes filled his days with contentment and reflection.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Ford, who stood by his side with unwavering support. His legacy continues through his devoted children: son Jackson Ford and daughter-in-law Laura Ford; daughter Jordan Whitlock and son-in-law Nick Whitlock; and step-daughter Rhiannon Hollaway and her partner Trisha Tormey, as well as his devoted mother, Marlene Lawton. Douglas leaves a strong and close-knit family, including his sisters Susan Stewart and Teddi Porter, brother Todd Porter, brother-in-law Bradley Stewart, sister-in-law Stephanie Porter, and his grandchildren Lena, Riley, and Nolan, along with his nieces and nephews: Scott, Andrew, Trace, Gabriel, Teague, Nelson, Tess, Tatum, Veronica, Abby, and Gwyneth.
