Dottie Miller, beloved wife, mother, grannie, and friend, passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on September 12, 1941, Dottie was a lifelong resident Huber Heights, known for her vibrant spirit and love for people.
Dottie graduated from Stebbins High School, a place she cherished and returned to for every class reunion. It was there that she developed her knack for connecting with others, a trait that blossomed into a social nature that endeared her to many. Known as a social butterfly, she had an incredible gift for conversation, easily chatting with anyone she met and leaving smiles in her wake.
A proud housewife and stay-at-home mom, Dottie's world revolved around her family. She poured her heart into caring for her loved ones, always on the go to ensure everyone was taken care of. Her grandkids were her pride and joy, and she could often be seen running around, making memories, and showering them with affection.
Dottie actively participated in the Red Hat Society, where her colorful personality shone as a cherished "Red Hatter”. Additionally, she was a dedicated member of a card club that enjoyed games of euchre, and she never turned down a chance to play dominos. Her lively spirit made every gathering a memorable one.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her devoted husband Jim Miller, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Her sons, Randy (Rose Coleman) Miller and Jeff Miller, along with her grandchildren—Lexi Miller, Casey Miller, Sammy (Abi Mendoza) Miller, and Gracie Miller—will forever hold her memory close. Dottie also cherished her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Gabby, Caleb, and Avery who brought her endless delight.
Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Doug (Norma) Acuff; her aunt, Teddy Bidwell; and her best friend, Judy Miller, as well as special friends Phoebe Hunt, Mary Ortega, and Sharon Brandewie.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Acuff and Carmia Acuff, as well as her uncle Tom Bidwell and cousin Tommy Bidwell.
Her warm smile, generous heart, and loving spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Dottie truly lived life to the fullest and made a lasting impact on everyone around her.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 9:30-10:30am at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45424. The service will follow at 10:30am. Dottie will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
