Dorothy L. Mcfadden

Dorothy Lee McFadden, born to Fitzhugh and Alma Gibson in Mayking, KY in 1928, has passed away at the age of 95 of natural causes.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Dorothy will be remembered for her good nature and devotion to her family.
Dorothy graduated high school in Whitesburg, Kentucky, and later married William Stacy Jr. (Jr.) in 1947. They moved to Ohio and raised their family here. They moved to California in the early 70's. Dorothy and William were married for 27 years before Jr. passed away at the age of 47. Together they had 3 children; two daughters and one son.
Dorothy loved getting together with family members for dinners and playing cards or dice games; her favorite games were Yahtzee and Canasta. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting as a hobby, and was a regular church member at Landmark Baptist Church in Dayton where she volunteered in the daycare. Dorothy started her working life at WPAFB as a civilian and worked there for 27 years.
Dorothy met her second husband, Orin McFadden "Mac" while living in California. There were married in 1976 and moved to Ohio. They were married a short 7 years before Mac's passing in 1983. Dorothy began working at Wal-Mart and finally retired at the age of 82.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Fitzhugh Gibson; two husbands, William Stacy and Orin McFadden; grandsons: Virgil and Daniel Hicks; sister, Nell Roberts; and several nieces.
She is survived by her daughters: Emma Carol Hicks, and her husband, Osie Hicks and Linda Bickett; son, Robert Stacy and his wife, Charlene; sister, Joyce Spurlock; brother, Wiley Gibson; many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 10:30am. Dorothy will be entombed at Byron Cemetery Mausoleum, 3256 Trebein Road, Fairborn, Ohio.
