Doris "Anne" Veghte March 3, 1933 - July 30, 2026
Mom was born in Union City, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim; her parents, Bruce and Annie Dyer; brother, Bruce; sister, Peggy; and oldest son, David.
Anne is survived by her children, Jill, Julie, Joel, and Tracie; and step-children, Steve and Carol; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; She is also survived by her granddaughter, Alesya who helped care for her near the end. Anne is also survived by her cat, Norman - who stayed by her side until the end.
Anne graduated from Wright State University and worked as a Genetics Counselor at Children's Hospital of Dayton for many years. She and her late husband Jim lived for many years in their beloved restored historic home in Grafton Hills Historic District in Dayton.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers at First Light Home Care, especially Amber; and the nurses from Hospice of Dayton, Vernetta, Becky, and most especially, Pam.
Anne's life will be celebrated and honored on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at First Baptist Church of Dayton with a visitation from 1pm-2pm and a funeral service at 2pm. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
