Doris was born in Coldwater, Ohio to a German Catholic family that valued faith and hard work, which became the foundation of how she lived her life. She was full of tenacity and grit raising her five children while working full time. She was also an adventurous and independent woman who traveled the globe. Doris was deeply committed to her church community where she was an active parishioner and volunteer at Holy Trinity Catholic Church for 65 years. Her volunteer work included St. Paul Luncheons, Bereavement Committee, RCIA, Vacation Bible School and the annual Holiday Bazaar. Inspired by her faith, she was involved in social justice movements and spent countless hours volunteering within her community.
Doris, or “GiGi” as her great grandchildren affectionately called her, was the matriarch of her family and she will be greatly missed. XXXOOO
