Dontay Dion Sheffield

Dontay Dion Sheffield, age 46, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Hospice of Dayton. He was born January 10, 1974 in Dayton, Ohio the son of William Brewer and Tonya McGinnis.

Dontay was a "protector" especially for his sister and family. He was an adventurer who loved to have fun by riding motorcycles, four-wheelers, roller skating, bowling and fishing. He enjoyed working on cars and C.B. radios. He could tinker and fix anything he set his mind to. Dontay especially loved and will be dearly missed by his four children and family.

Dontay was a dedicated truck driver for U.S. Express.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Tonya McGinnis.

Dontay is survived by his wife, Brenda Obinwa; children, Dontay Sheffield, Jr., NaQuyan Sheffield, Marshall Sheffield and Michael Sheffield; brother, Harold Sheffield; sister, Danielle Sheffield; step-father, Fred Hemphill; grandmother, Henrietta Stephens; 4 grandchildren and a host many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 1, 2020 from 4-6pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, where a funeral service follow at 6pm. Pastor Kenny Hoskins will officiate Dontay's service.
