Donnie Isaac, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on February 28, 1955, in Fairborn, Ohio, he was the beloved son of Edward and Annie Isaac, who preceded him in death.
Donnie's career was dedicated to service, having worked for Globe Motors and Liberty High School, before retiring from Catholic Social Services of Dayton. His commitment to helping others was evident not only in his professional life but also in the countless ways he touched the lives of those around him.
Affectionately known for his infectious smile and vibrant personality, Donnie was a man who could light up any room. He was funny and loved to joke around, making him a true people person. He never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with open arms, extending warmth and kindness to all. Donnie enjoyed living life to the fullest, embracing each day with joy and laughter.
A proud member of Our Lady of Mercy Church - Our Lady of Grace Parish and the Knights of Columbus, Donnie found joy in his faith and community. He also made a significant impact on the youth as a coach for C.J. Youth Football, where he served as a mentor to many beloved children, guiding them both on and off the field. His involvement in coaching clinics even allowed him the honor of speaking for the Cincinnati Bengals, and he had the privilege of meeting coaching legends Marvin Lewis and Jim Tressel.
Beyond his dedication to coaching and mentorship, Donnie's interests were as rich as his character. He loved to cook, play music, and garden, finding solace and fulfillment in the beauty of the outdoors. Sports were a passion for Donnie, and he was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State University Buckeyes, enjoying the thrill of every game.
His family, who lovingly supported him through every adventure, included his devoted wife, Angela Isaac; his sons, Donald Isaac, Jr. and his wife, Ginger, and Niles Isaac; his beloved grandson, Cameron; his brother, Brother Ignatius Isaac; his sister, Lorna Ashour; his niece, Crystal "Girlie" Morrish and her husband Michael; and a special friend, Gary Jackson. Along with a host of other relatives and friends, they will carry forth his legacy of love and laughter.
Donnie’s spirit will forever linger in the hearts of all who knew him, as they remember a man whose laughter and joy brought so much light into their lives. His visitation will take place on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM, all at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
