Donna Lynn Mills, born on February 11, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2026, at Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by her loving family.
Her educational journey began at West Carrollton High School, from which she graduated before attending the Miami Valley School of Nursing, where she obtained her nursing degree.
Donna was an extraordinary homemaker who created lasting memories with her family. Her loved ones will forever cherish the special moments shared during holidays, especially Christmas. She exemplified the qualities of a true caregiver, combining her intelligence with her warm demeanor and good sense of humor. She had a deep love for her family, particularly her grandchildren, with whom she shared countless joyful experiences.
In addition to her family life, Donna was an avid sports enthusiast who played racquetball and subsequently tennis for many years. She took immense pride in her tennis championships, viewing them as significant personal accomplishments. Amidst her numerous hobbies, she also enjoyed tending to her plants, immersing herself in books, and spending cherished moments at the beach with her family.
Donna is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Jim Mills; her children, Alexandra (Jack) Sperry and Randi (Neil) Willis; and her cherished grandchildren, Hannah (Josh) Walls, Grace Frazier, Lexi Willis, Grant Willis, Emma Sperry, and Alex Sperry. She also leaves behind her sisters, Connie Street and Renee Gwinn; her nephew, Chad (Barb) Gwinn; and her great niece, Chloe Gwinn.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jennie Gwinn, and her brother-in-law, Sam Street. Donna Lynn Mills will be remembered for her big heart, loyalty, and the light she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever linger in the hearts of her family and friends.
A small service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 11 am at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459). The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of service. Donna will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery.
