Huber Heights

Donna L. Machuca, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Huber Heights, Ohio. Born on September 3, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Donna dedicated 25 years of her life as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), a career that exemplified her innate caregiving spirit and kind-hearted nature. This commitment to caring for others seamlessly extended into her personal life, where she embraced her roles as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend with the same selflessness and maternal warmth.

Donna was cherished for her nurturing personality, characterized by her kindness, sweetness, and an ever-helpful disposition. Throughout her life, she found joy in various activities that reflected her love and care for nature; she was particularly fond of bird watching, especially hummingbirds. A voracious reader, she also enjoyed playing word games and had an appreciation for music. Her dedication to her family was evident as she actively participated in her grandchildren's activities and traveled to create lasting memories together. Donna was proud to be involved with the Red Hat Society and cherished the experiences she and her husband shared through the Worldwide Marriage Encounter. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church, where she lovingly cooked meals for events and fellow church goers.

Her legacy of love will continue to resonate through her beloved family. Donna is survived by her husband, Luis Machuca, with whom she shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. She is also survived by her children, Dr. Jennifer Machuca, Lt Col John (Ericka) Machuca, and Brian (Julie) Machuca, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Samantha Stubleski, Scarlet Stubleski, Aden Machuca, Avery Machuca, and Lilah Machuca. She leaves behind her mother, Doris Schemer, along with her siblings, Diana (James) Lind and Nancy (Kevin) Ostmeyer, and her brother, Phil (Debbie) Schemer. Additionally, she is survived by her beloved dog and companion, Sadie, and a multitude of nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly. Donna joins her father, Joe Schemer, nephews and many other loved ones in Heaven.

Her embodiment of kindness, care, and unwavering support will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. As we reflect on her life, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose spirit touched many and whose memory will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her family and friends.
