Donna Jean Besser Johnson, 93, of Tampa, FL, passed away on June 20, 2025, in Kettering, OH. She was born in Battle Creek, MI, on August 1, 1931, to James B. Bagley, Sr. and Roxie P. (Crousore) Bagley. Her family moved from Battle Creek to Kokomo when she was a young child. On November 30, 1951, she married Robert “Bob” Johnson in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death in March of 2001.
Donna graduated from Kokomo High School in 1949. She worked at Delco for twenty-seven years. In 1972, Donna, Bob, and their girls moved to Bradenton, FL, where they enjoyed many years of sunshine.
Donna was an exceptionally talented seamstress and made the best butterscotch pies ever! She was known for her quick wit, sarcasm, and her sense of humor. Her passing will leave a hole in our family until we are all gathered in heaven.
Donna is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Johnson Dillon (Mark) of Tampa, FL, Cindy Johnson Staniford (Paul) of Kettering, OH, her two grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, as well as her many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Mary Williams, James (Jim) Bagley, Jr., Wanda McCombs, Marlene Dockery, and Carolyn Vazquez.
Donna’s family will have a celebration of life for her in Tampa on August 2.
