Donald Wares

Donald S. Wares, age 72 of Riverside, passed away February 21, 2016. He was born February 22, 1943 in Jamestown, NY to the late Chester and Ulrick Wares. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Chester B. Wares, Jr.

Don is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Corina Wares; children: Kenneth (Christine) Wares, Gina Vetro, Christine Shannon, Michael (Michelle) Wares and Linda, wife to Charles McGrigg; 15 grandchildren; brother, Laurence (Nancy) Wares; sisters: Wanda (Ralph) D'Angelo, Marla (Paul) Edson and Lorna (Doug) Wilson; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wares; 5 nieces, 11 nephews, other relatives and friends.

Don was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 27 years. During his military service Don traveled to many countries, including: Turkey, Japan and the Philippines, before settling in Dayton, Ohio. He enjoyed photography, but most of all Don loved his family.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 8:30 am on Friday. Burial and Military Honors will follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
