Donald P. Powers

Donald P. Powers, age 85, of Franklin, passed December 8, 2020. He was born September 26, 1935 in Middletown, Ohio to the late Wade Powers and Hazel (Sutton) Ledbetter.

He was a former teacher at Harding J. High in Hamilton, Ohio, Fairmont East in Kettering, Ohio, and Princeton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio where he also served as a Gymnastics Coach. Donald also taught at Centerville High School in Centerville, Ohio. After his teaching career he went on to own and operate 2nd Street Auto and Safeway Storage in Franklin, Ohio. Donald was a longtime member of Franklin Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents Donald was preceded in death by his brothers, Wade Powers Jr, Eddie Powers, Tommy Powers, and his sister Mary Barker.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norma (Rose) Powers; his daughters, Shelly (John Pruden) Powers, Dawn (Edward) Wieging; grandchildren, Holly (Andre) Revels, Justin(Danielle) Schiele, Maria Schiele, Mikala Schiele; 3 great-grandchildren, Huyana Revels, Elliana Hudson, Carter Schiele, sister, Barbara Lynn Coyle, and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 9:00 am until time of service at 10:00 am at Franklin Baptist Church, 160 Deardorff Road, Franklin, Ohio. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery, Butler County.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Franklin Baptist Church in Donald's memory.

The State of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face mask will be worn in all public places.
