Donald Leroy Brown

Donald Leroy Brown, age 79, of Xenia, Ohio, entered eternal rest on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Springfield Medical Center, surrounded by the legacy of a life well lived and deeply loved. Donald was born on June 28, 1946, in Xenia, Ohio, the beloved son of Harold Brown and Laura (Anderson) Brown. A lifelong member of the Xenia community, Donald’s life was defined by service, faith, family, and an unwavering commitment to others. Donald proudly served his country as a United States Marine, including service during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he continued to serve his community as a law enforcement officer with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department from 1970 to 1977. Donald later built a long and dedicated career with General Motors, from which he retired in 2008. He was a proud graduate of Xenia High School, Class of 1964, and remained deeply connected to his hometown throughout his life. A man of strong faith, Donald was a devoted member of First United Christian Church, where he faithfully served as an Elder. He was an active member and past President of the Vietnam Veterans Association and was also a member of the VFW and AMVETS. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Norma Brown Davis; and his brother, Ronald Lee Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 40 years, Jacquelyn Fletcher Brown; his son, Deron (Rachel) Brown of Xenia; his step-son, Anthony (Valerie) Allen of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his grandchildren, Logan, Olivia, and Madeline Brown; his brother-in-law, Rodney Davis; his sister-in-law, Shelia Odom Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out with love, prayers, and support during this time. A graveside service celebrating Donald’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Valley View Memorial Gardens Chapel, 170 N. Valley Road, Xenia, Ohio 45385. He will be laid to rest with full military honors.
