Donald Douglas Martin, age 83, of Dayton passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025. He was born on June 14, 1942 in Blackey, Kentucky, the son of the late William and Elizabeth Martin.
Donald graduated from Fairview High School. He retired from the Barnes Group Associated Springs after 39 years working as a machinist. Donald had an incredible memory and could easily recall dates and facts about his favorite things. He enjoyed astronomy and history and could name every president and state capital. He liked to travel and also had a passion for music, especially the hits from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Donald was a devoted father and grandfather. He cherished time spent with his family and family lit his world up. Donald will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Martin; sons, Alan D. (Christine Marie) Martin, Don W. (Yvonne) Martin, and Rodney S. Martin; granddaughters, Christina M. Martin, Taylor B. Wadham, Ashley M. Benallo, and Isabella F. Martin; grandsons, Darren M. Martin and Brenner A. Martin and great-grandchild, Kennedy Martin; along with numerous other family and friends.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Joshua Martin; brothers, James Martin, Daniel Martin and Michael Martin; and sister, Linda Hayes.
