Donald L. McCormick, age 93, of Xenia, Ohio passed away on January 10, 2018 at Brookdale of Beavercreek.
He was born in Dayton, Ohio, and preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Edith (Cyphers) McCormick, parents Alex and Emily (Ziegler) McCormick, son-in-law James Howard, brother Albert McCormick and brother-in-law, Robert Magnuson.
He is survived by his daughters, Vicki Howard and Patti McCormick (Chris Ellis), siblings, Dorothy Magnuson, Irene Naylor (Jim), sister-in-law Shirley McCormick and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Don served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was honorably discharged following his tours. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Silver Star Lodge, Alpha Ohio., winning the Ohio Knight of the Year in 1991.
A graduate of Roosevelt High School, Dayton, he worked as a butcher at Cyphers Market from 1954 – 1969. He retired from General Motors in 1991 after 20 years of service.
Family will greet friends from 12pm – 2pm, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Newcomer, Beavercreek. Service immediately following at 2pm. Burial at Beaver Cemetery, Beavercreek, Ohio. Officiant: Pastor Tom Hite.
