DOLORES TAGLE DACANAY

August 25, 1941 – August 3, 2026

With gratitude and love, we celebrate the beautiful life of Dolores Tagle-Dacanay, a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and faithful servant of God.

Born on August 25, 1941, Dolores was the beloved eldest daughter of David Tagle (†) and Eugenia Cortez (†). She was a loving sister to Josefina Tagle-Avila (†) and carried the values of compassion, faith, and selfless service throughout her life.

She was the cherished wife of Arnulfo M. Dacanay (†), whose memory she lovingly honored after his passing. Together, they built a family founded on love, respect, and unwavering devotion.

As a mother, Dolores was a constant source of strength, guidance, and unconditional love to her daughters, Anna Carmencita D. Hicks (Larry) and Maria Cecilia T. Dacanay. Her nurturing heart extended far beyond her immediate family. To her nieces and nephews, she was more than an aunt—she was a second mother whose kindness, wisdom, and generosity touched their lives in countless ways.

A woman of deep faith, Dolores faithfully served the Lord as a Mass Commentator at the Minor Basilica and Diocesan Shrine Parish of St. Paul of the Cross in the Philippines. She remained active in daily mass, rosary and prayer devotions at the St. Mary of the Assumption in Springboro, Ohio until her passing. Her dedication to the Church reflected her steadfast belief in God and her desire to serve others with humility and grace.

Dolores will always be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm smile, compassionate heart, and unwavering love for her family and community. Her life was a testament to faith, service, and selfless love.

On August 3, 2026, Dolores peacefully returned to the bosom of our Heavenly Father. Though our hearts grieve her sudden passing, we take comfort in knowing that she now rests in God's eternal embrace.

Her unconditional love, enduring faith, and remarkable legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever remain in our hearts and prayers.

A private viewing was held on August 6, 2026.

Cremation service at Newcomer Funeral Home, and a funeral mass at St. Mary of the Assumption will be held at later dates this month.
