It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dianne Whitley (74) on June 12, 2025. Dianne was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, and friend.

Dianne was born October 25,1950. The daughter of Dan and Mary Lewis. Surviving siblings are Jimmy Lewis, Jon Lewis, and Jill Collins. There are also surviving nieces and nephews. Her mother Mary and brother Tommy Lewis preceded her in death.

Dianne graduated from Gallia Academy High School. She received her teaching degree at Rio Grande with a major in special education. After college she taught 3rd grade at Hannan Trace Elementary School. During her married life she worked in office management. She retired from Thrivent Financial in 2017.

In June of 1974 she married her husband of 51 years Randy Jay Whitley. After marriage she and her husband moved to Gastonia, North Carolina then to Grand Prairie, Texas. Finally staying in Dayton, Ohio where they have lived and worked until retirement.

Dianne and Randy were able to travel prior to retirement. She had many funny stories about their travels to the South Dakota, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Alaska.

In 1990 Dianne began a long and courageous 35-year fight with cancer. She was cancer free 5 years after her breast cancer surgery. In 2002 she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. She followed many plans of chemo, radiation, and drug treatments.

An informal grave side service for Dianne will be held at Ohio Memory Gardens Cemetery. Attendees are asked to dress casually as per Dianne’s wishes. Grave side to be announced.
