Diane Marie Maas, age 82 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025. She was born October 3, 1942 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late Jack and Chrissoula Hodgkinson. Diane graduated from Fairmont High School. She was very active with the Spina Bifida Association of Greater Dayton. Diane was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Her husband, John, was a soccer coach and she was the girls' Soccer Mom, They called her "Mother Maas". Her family belonged to Crestwood Swim Club and they were very active in the GDSA, Greater Dayton Swimming Association, for many years. Diane and her husband were very involved in the Social Committee at the Estates of Willow Creek. She cherished time with her family. Diane will be deeply missed.
Diane is survived by her Daughters, Jackie S. (Brad) Ferguson, and Lisa A. Maas; Granddaughter, Ashleigh; Sister, Susan Gayle (Phil) Winkler; Sister-In-Laws, Barbara (John) Dahlinghaus, and Barbara Maas; and by numerous other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her Husband, John Maas; Parents; Father-In-law, Anton Maas; and Mother-In-Law, Magdalena Maas.
Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's research Hospital.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19, from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home - Centerville (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd. Dayton, OH 45459). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 20, at 11:30AM at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, (6245 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45459).
