Diane Caldwell, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family. She was born on November 19, 1946, in Owensville, Kentucky, and made a significant impact on all who knew her.
Diane devoted a considerable part of her life working as a child care aide. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton and carried forward a legacy of sassiness, kindness, love, and generosity. Throughout her life, she maintained an impeccable sense of style; her love for jewelry and self-care was evident as she was always put together and radiated a vibrant personality.
Diane's hobbies and interests reflected her vibrant life. She found joy in listening to music and watching cowboy shows, immersing herself in stories and melodies that resonated with her soul. A lover of literature, she particularly enjoyed the works of James Patterson, finding pleasure and escape within the pages of his books. Word searches were another of her favored pastimes, providing her with endless hours of enjoyment.
She leaves behind her cherished daughters, Sonya Decembly, Jacqueline (Steven) Decembly-Dorsey, Tracy Robinson, Jessica Reeder, Tricia Reeder, and LaDonna Caldwell; beloved grandchildren, Natasha Decembly, Quetin Decembly, Jaylynn (Rico) Chattams, Steven Dorsey Jr., Da'Von Dorsey, Andrea Robinson, Talya Reeder, Tarynn Reeder, Cam'Rynn Peterson, Stephen Smith, Keenan Watson, and Keyonna Watson; her sisters, Sheila (Larry), Loretta (Robert) Fambro, and Carol (Mike) Harris; and her brother, David (Lisa) Decembly. Additionally, she is survived by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends, all of whom will carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and strength.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Dorothy Decembly; her sister, Marilyn Evans; and her brother, Lance Decembly. Diane’s spirit and memories will remain alive in the hearts of those who loved her, a true testament to her remarkable life.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
