Devonna Ruth (Norvell) Rose, of Centerville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2017.
She was born June 4, 1935 in Vandalia to Chester and Etta (Jones) Norvell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters - Robert, Willard, Homer, Frances, Alfred, Ray, Buddy, Mary, and Marie.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Cecil; her children – Leslie (Vicky) of Jamestown, Rhonda (Gary) Lee of West Carrollton, Crystal (Tim) Heiskell of Neosho, Missouri, Gary (Debbie) of Middletown, and Mary (Wallace) Bates of New Lebanon; 39 grandchildren and spouses; and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Angel of New Lebanon; sisters-in-law, Geneva Norvell of Zanesville, Alberta Norvell of Centerville, and Helen Chaney of Kettering; brothers-in-law, Jack McGowan of Florida and Ray Lamb of Red Lion; also many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Devonna and Cecil were founding members of Centerville First Pentecostal Church. They were then members of Full Gospel Temple in Germantown. For the past 28 years, they have been faithful members of Union Road Pentecostal Church, where she at one time served as choir director and co-leader of the Senior Saints ministry.
For 32 years, she provided a positive and nurturing influence on the lives of numerous children for whom she provided child care.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Devonna's life will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Union Road Pentecostal Church, 1101 North Union Road, Trotwood, Ohio. Rev. Clifford Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Centerville Cemetery.
Devonna's family will greet friends on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 5-8:00 pm at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multi-Media Ministry of Union Road Pentecostal Church.
