Dennis W. Russell, age 71 of Kettering, OH went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born February 24, 1949 in Lee County, Virginia to Governor and Dorothy (Patrick) Russell. Dennis married Connie Bryant on March 14, 1997 in Gatlinburg, TN.
Dennis loved to fish and watch Western movies. He worked for General Motors (Inland), Nuclear Research for GE in Cincinnati and Financial Investments with Prudential Insurance and National Bank in Wilmington. Dennis was the Mayor of Clarksville, OH during the late 1970's and early 80's. He loved the country and spending his summers as a child with his grandparents in Virginia.
Dennis is survived by his wife Connie; a son, Todd Russell; Connie's sons, Dean (Beth) Miller and Todd (Linda) Miller; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Bonita (Jerry) Tainter and Wilhelmina Lane; and numerous other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bryon Russell; his first wife, Judith Russell; three brothers, Michael, Terry and Donnie.
Due to the COVID restrictions in place, the family has requested that services for Dennis be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, donation in Dennis's name can be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4440 Lake Forest Dr, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
