Dennis C. Knotts, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on December 12, 2025, at his home in Huber Heights, Ohio, leaving behind a rich legacy of love and kindness. Born on February 10, 1958, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Dennis’s life was one with compassion and generosity, illuminating the lives of all who knew him.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Dennis dedicated 26 years to serving his country. After retiring from military service, he continued his commitment to the mission, working at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a civilian, where his dedication and skills were highly valued. His educational journey saw him graduate from Southern High School in Maryland, followed by earning both an Associate and Bachelor Degree from Park University, demonstrating his steadfast belief in the power of knowledge.
Dennis was known for his infectious happiness and his remarkable ability to remain unfazed by life’s challenges. His exceptional patience and wise advice were a beacon for his family and friends. He possessed a unique gift for teaching, especially when it came to his adored grandchildren. Dennis took great pride in his family, cherishing every moment spent with them, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the treasures of his life.
In his spare time, Dennis was an avid coin collector and enjoyed the art of woodworking. His talent in working on cars was matched only by his reputation as a jack of all trades—a master of most. He found joy in riding motorcycles, savoring the freedom of the open road.
Dennis is survived by his cherished wife of 20 years, Linda Knotts; his beloved children, Johna Marie Leach (Rob), Jonathan Knotts, Jennifer Uhrig (Jeff), David Dilbeck (Nikole), Matthew Dilbeck, and Dennis Knotts II; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored him. He is also survived by his brothers, Keith Knotts (Pam), Randy Knotts (Leah), and Steve Knotts; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will all deeply miss his kind spirit.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Delbert and Dotty Knotts; first wife, Kathy Knotts; sister, Carla Thomas, and brother, Terry Knotts. Dennis’s absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will forever remain alive in the memories he created and the love he shared.
As we celebrate the life of Dennis, let us remember his legacy of compassion, his unwavering support for his family, and the priceless lessons he imparted. In doing so, we honor a truly great man who devoted his life to the service of others, forever imprinted in our hearts.
