Dennis J. Horvath, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on September 30, 2026 at the age of 70. He was born on October 23, 1955, in Dayton, and remained closely connected to the community throughout his life.
Dennis was a highly skilled and creative person, starting out his career in the building trades first learning to make cabinets and remodel bathrooms. Later he worked as a construction manager for 20 years at Design Homes, followed by running his own remodeling business. He was truly a jack-of-all trades and probably owned every tool known to man in his very well-organized workshop.
Dennis was known to push the boundaries in teasing and pestering folks, but he was a kind and generous person at heart. He enjoyed being outside with his family going on various adventures from swimming and boating at the lake, canoeing, sports, and catching turtles.
Dennis deeply loved his family, his personal relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Ohio State football, the Cincinnati Bengals. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Jennifer (Keferl) Horvath; his son, Zachary Horvath; his daughter, Natalie Horvath; and his grandson, Miles Horvath-Kridler. He is also survived by his twin sister, Diane Montalbano; his sister, Marcia Heben; and his brother, Johnny Horvath; including many extended family members and friends. Each of them shared in the love, laughter, and steady presence that defined Dennis’s life, and his memory will remain a lasting blessing to those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosemary (Kale) Horvath.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Habitat for Humanity or Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in memory of Dennis.
