Delores J. Iery, née Cooper, a vibrant and loving soul whose life touched many, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Miami County, Ohio. Born on March 12, 1939, in Vanceburg, Kentucky, Delores's journey was marked by a steadfast spirit and an outgoing nature that made her beloved by friends and family alike.
A strong-willed woman who never met a stranger, Delores carried her warmth into every room she entered. She cherished her grandchildren deeply, fueling their lives with the boundless love only a grandmother can offer. Her passion for crafts, bingo, and puzzles highlighted not only her creativity but also her patient and dedicated approach to life. She enjoyed going to Debbie's Restaurant as often as she could.
Delores devoted thirty years to her career with Aramark, retiring with pride from an esteemed tenure marked by diligence and an unwavering work ethic. Beyond her professional life, she embraced her family above all else, creating a legacy of strength and affection that continues to inspire.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Teresa (Robert) Knepfle, Fonda Williams, and Tamey (Mike) Iery. Her grandchildren Jennifer (Nik) Fanning, Ashley (Nick) D'Allura, and Matthew Williams carry forward her spirit, along with her great-grandchildren Dakota (Brianne) King and Lily D'Allura, and her great-great-grandson Jaxton King. Delores’s sister, Janet Rayborn, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, also mourn the loss of a remarkable woman whose heart was as immense as her laughter.
Delores was preceded in death by her son Jamie Iery, her parents Chester Cooper and Florence Gims, her great-granddaughter Sofie D'Allura, her brother Gary Cooper, and her nephew Randy Cooper. Their memories remain forever etched in the hearts of those she loved.
A visitation honoring Delores will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. Following this, a funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM at the same location, allowing all who knew her to gather and pay tribute to a life well lived. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, OH.
Delores J. Iery leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will ripple through generations. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives she enriched so profoundly.
