Delores "Dee" Bruns, a beloved member of the Dayton community, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at the age of 98, in her lifelong hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on June 10, 1927, Delores was a vibrant spirit whose numerous talents and passions deeply enriched the lives of those who knew her.

Dee was a gifted competitive roller skater, celebrated for her prowess on the rink, where she won many trophies and medals. Her zest for life was also evident in her professional endeavors; she successfully ran a long-established sewing business that specialized in crafting a variety of garments including costumes, wedding dresses, uniforms, alterations, and doll clothes. Her artistic abilities extended beyond sewing, as she was also an avid crafter and skilled artist, pouring her creativity into every project she undertook.

Throughout her life, Delores cherished the joy of playing cards and delighted in vacations spent in Michigan with her family, moments that were filled with laughter and love. Friends and family alike will fondly remember her great sense of humor and her ability to light up any room with her presence.

A proud graduate of Patterson Co-Op High School in Dayton, Dee carried her vibrant spirit into her adult life, leaving lasting memories for her loved ones. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Gwen VanSchaik, who shares her life with companion Ken Baker; her daughter Kyle (Robert) Russo; and her daughter-in-law Teresa Osborne-Sehee. She also leaves behind her cherished grandsons, Jeffrey and Jayson Finfrock, a great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, extended family, and her dear friends.

Dee was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur Sehee, and her second husband, Daniel Bruns, a police officer who tragically lost his life in the line of duty. She also mourned the loss of her son, Alan Sehee, and her parents, Frank and Delphia Duncan.

Delores will be sadly missed by her remaining family, caregivers, and the hospice team at The Wellington At Dayton Assisted Living facility. Her legacy will live on through the love and memories she created, and she will be remembered for her multiple talents, deep love for family, and indomitable spirit.
