Zugelder, Della, 84, formerly of Troy, Ohio passed away May 2, 2017.
She was born February 11, 1933 in Hyden, KY to the late Johnny and Nora (Bailey) Cornett. She retired from Dayton Press after 28 years. Della cared for many things. Della loved her dogs and her gardens. She loved the outdoors and felt most at peace barefoot in the mountains of her Kentucky home. She wasn't often found resting or sitting down, especially during family dinners. She became her husband's caregiver later in life.
In addition to her parents, Johnny and Nora, Della was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Zugelder in 2007, her daughter, Peggy Dearth Werling in 2012 and several siblings.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James C. and Kaari Zugelder of Seattle, WA; daughter, Debbie Adams of Miamisburg, and Peggy's husband, Russ Werling. Della was blessed with six grandchildren, David Dearth and wife, Joy, Robert Slack and wife, Jessica, Stephanie Tracy and husband, Chris, Lori Turner and husband, Noah, Joshua and Jared Zugelder; and seven great-grandchildren, Tony, Anna, Dominic, Ella, Ava, Alena, and Molly. Della is also survived by her sisters, Iona Farler of Hyden, KY, Lula Gabbard of West Alexandria, OH; brother, Billy Roger Cornett of Monticello, KY, and several nieces and nephews.
If desired, an expression of sympathy may be made to Brookdale Hospice or to SICSA in Della's memory.
