Della May Wright

Della "Nani" May Wright, age 91 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026. She was born February 1, 1935 in Washington Courthouse, Ohio. Daughter of the late Bill and Edna Forsha.

Della was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a passion for playing Bingo, going to the Casino, and collecting elephants. She was an avid animal lover and football fan. Della will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

In addition to her parents, Della was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Fred Wright; siblings, Mary Stutler, Violet (Bo) Tygart, Glen Curry, Dorothy Martindale, and Harold Forsha; brothers-in-law, Pat Nelson and Richard Montgomery.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Leonard, Peggy Smith, Scott (Amy) Wright, Todd Wright, and Sean Wright (Brian Young); 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; great great grandson, Gabe; sister, Pat Montgomery; brother-in-law, Darrell Martindale; sister-in-law, Wilma Forsha; several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 9:30am-10:30am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 10:30am with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
