Della Grace Wampler

Della Grace Wampler, 74, of Clayton, Ohio, passed away on November 24th, 2025.

She was born in Springfield, Ohio, on March 2nd, 1951, to Frank Covan Cooper and Betty Ann Griffith. After an adventuresome childhood in Hillsboro, Ohio, she eventually found herself attending the Ohio State University in Columbus, ultimately settling in Dayton, where she raised a family while pursuing a decades-long career in mental health.

Della was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Her kindness touched the lives of all those around her. Always an artist at heart, she enjoyed keeping journals and sketching the world around her. Always an animal lover, journals were, without fail, covered in cat hair.

Della is survived by husband Ray, son Josh (and Feifei), daughter Maddie (and Joe), brother Jay (and Charlotte), sister Linda, and best friend Cindy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Covan and Betty Ann.

There will be a memorial service held at Newcomer's North Dayton Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd) on Friday, December 12th, 2025. Public visitation will be from 1pm-2pm, with service to begin at 2pm. During the service, the family welcomes anyone that would like to share their feelings, thoughts or memories.

Della will be dearly remembered and sorely missed.
