Debra Marie Wynk, affectionately known as “Debbie,” passed away peacefully at her home on September 25, 2026, at the age of 59, with her husband Jeff, son Blaine, and step-son Drew by her side. She faced her seven-month battle with cholangiocarcinoma courageously. Born on January 7, 1967, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, Debbie was the daughter of Blaine Goin and Lydia (Sander) Goin.
After graduating from Baumholder American High School in Germany in 1985, Debbie received her bachelor's in education from Wright State University in 1993. After college, she worked in property management for the next seventeen years. In order to be home when the kids didn't have school, she began working for St. Albert the Great Food Services. Debbie loved the daily interactions with the students and also loved her coworkers at Incarnation and Immaculate Conception schools over the next twelve years.
On March 15, 2002, she married Jeff Wynk.
She leaves behind her loving family: husband Jeff, son Blaine, step-son Drew, parents-in-law Paul and Connie Wynk, sister and brother-in-law Jill and Vern Muhlenkamp, niece and nephews Abby (Zach) Fullenkamp, Devin Muhlenkamp, Brad (Emma) Muhlenkamp, Michelle Wietor, Kevin Cappel, sister Donna (Uwe) Cappel, Uncles and Aunts, Dane Goin, Ulla Kunstmann, Trude Sander, and Gerd Sander (Briget), Cousins in the United States: Janet Tabor, Doug Goin, Marie Young, Bob Goin, Mike Goin, Jimmy Goin, and Andrea Harker, Cousins in Germany: Rudiger, Achim, Kerstin (dec.), Aline, Bastian, Christoph, Claudia, Bettina, Andrea, and Jenny.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Blaine and Lydia Goin.
Debbie was a lifelong animal lover. She had multiple dogs and various other pets throughout her life, including her beloved Springer Spaniels Oreo and Gypsy. Debbie enjoyed hanging out in her heavily landscaped backyard, tending to her koi pond, and watching and feeding the hummingbirds. She enjoyed home improvement projects, watching movies, a wide variety of music, and watching baseball. Debbie was a self-proclaimed 1980s "Disco Queen" and her quick wit and humor lightened any room she was in.
Debbie will be remembered by her family and close friends as being selfless, always considering the well-being of others above her own.
A visitation will take place on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Centerville Chapel, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of Dayton or The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation in Debbie's name would be greatly appreciated.
