Debra Aleen Gilmore

Debra A. Gilmore, age 75, of Centerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospice when she took the Lord's hand to go home on August 20, 2025. Born on January 29, 1950, Debra was the beloved daughter of Joyce and Max Johnson, and stepdaughter of the late Robert Place.

Debra was a woman of warmth, strength, and grace. She lived a life devoted to her family and community, always offering love, support, and kindness to those around her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved mother, Joyce Place; three loving sisters: Nicole Onsager (Bob), Leslyn Overstreet (Gordon, deceased), and Leesa Alford (Jim). Debra was also a devoted mother to Kristene M. Willis (Brian), Andrew Gilmore (Helen), and Emily Bucher (Jon), and a cherished grandmother to many. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Debra was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "David" Gilmore; father, Max Johnson; and stepfather, Robert Place.

She was a proud and active member of the Eastern Star, where she served in many roles alongside her daughter Kris, including secretary and president of her chapter. Debra also found great joy in square dancing with husband David, sharing many happy memories together on the dance floor.

Debra will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, David Gilmore, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Newcomer Funeral Home in Centerville.

Debra’s memory will be treasured forever, and her love will continue to shine through the lives of those she touched.
