It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Deborah Hendricks, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, who departed from this life peacefully on December 11, 2025. Born on January 23, 1956, in Atlanta, Georgia, Deborah's life unfolded like a tapestry woven with threads of love, resilience, and compassion.
Deborah embraced her education at DuSable High School, culminating her journey there as a proud member of the Class of 1975. In her professional life, she dedicated many years to the field of insurance, serving as a claim examiner. Further seeking to enhance her skills and care for others, she obtained her LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) and brought her nurturing spirit to her role for several rewarding years.
Those who were graced by her presence knew Deborah as a loving and kind individual, whose strong, independent, and outgoing personality drew many to her warm embrace. Her spiritual nature was evident in everything she did, providing comfort and support to her family and friends. She relished the simple pleasures of life, from spirited card games to soaking in the joy of picnics and barbecues with her family. Deborah had an unyielding love for the outdoors and cherished moments spent surrounded by nature, especially in the company of her beloved family.
Family meant the world to Deborah. She is mourned by her devoted son, Tyree Wilson, as well as her cherished siblings—Lawrence Wilson, Gerald Wilson, Daryl Wilson, Valerie Wilson, Barbara Jean Wilson, and Dela Wilson. The love of a mother, sister, and friend continues through these surviving members, alongside a host of extended family and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
Deborah was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Mary Wilson, who surely welcomed her with open arms. As we reflect on Deborah's life, we celebrate the legacy of kindness and love she leaves behind, reminding us all of the importance of family, faith, and the joyous moments shared together. Her spirit shall live on in the memories we cherish and through the love she instilled in so many lives.
