David L. “Dave” Wollenhaupt, of West Carrollton, Ohio, passed away on May 27, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 80. Born on August 24, 1944, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Dave lived a life marked by dedication to his successful career as a tool and die maker, spanning over 45 years, and providing for his family.
Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Wollenhaupt, and his parents, Betty and Dick Wollenhaupt.
Dave is survived by his sister, Lois Wollenhaupt; brother, Glenn Wollenhaupt; daughters, Amy Wollenhaupt, Wendy (Greg) Hoffman, and Valerie (Craig) Richardson. He was a loving grandfather “Pap” to Morgan Graeser and Nicholas Webster and also Amy (Cody) Hines, and Haley Hoffman (Zach). Additionally, Dave had four great-grandchildren, along with numerous bonus grandchildren who brightened his life immeasurably. He celebrated the role of “Pap” with great pride.
Dave possessed a great sense of humor that brought joy to both family and friends. He was an avid collector of toys, and enjoyed the thrill of NASCAR and nice cars. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his great friends in the neighborhood, including best friend Ralphie.
Dave's legacy of kindness and humor will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed, but warmly remembered.
Family will receive guests from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439) where a memorial service will begin at 12:00 pm. Inurnment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery, West Carrollton.
