David Lee Simon, affectionately known as "Dave," graced the world with his presence from April 21, 1940, until September 12, 2025. Born in the quaint town of Hamilton, Ohio, Dave lived a life woven with laughter, memorable experiences, and deep connections. Surrounded by his loving family in his final moments, he leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.

Dave was a proud veteran who served in the Army during the Korean War, exemplifying bravery and commitment that resonated throughout his life. Following his military service, he retired from Pony Express, where he delivered college books, a testament to his unwavering dedication to helping others. His off-colored personality and hearty laugh were hallmarks that brought joy and warmth to everyone around him. Friends and fellow veterans at the VFW Post #9927, American Legion Post #598, and American Legion Post #2800 will always fondly remember his unique way of thinking and his skillful predictions of the weather.

His roles as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather defined him, and he found profound pride in each relationship he nurtured. He adored his great-granddaughter, Danisea "Dani" Reitz, whose laughter and spirit encapsulated the love he poured into his family. Dave's daughter, Tabitha Gleason, along with grandchildren Jade and Matthew Reitz, as well as his former wife, Janet Christian are left with countless cherished memories of their time together, memories filled with joy from just hanging out and enjoying his one-of-a-kind personality.

Beyond family ties, Dave had a deep love for his dog, Princess "Pup," whose companionship brought an additional layer of happiness to his life. Known for his kindness and willingness to help others, he was a good man whose acts of generosity touched many lives.

As we say goodbye to David Lee Simon, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will certainly continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, forever reminding us of the beauty of shared moments, laughter, and unconditional love.
