David Lionel Ryon, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on August 24, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, David was the cherished son of Elmer and Lucille Ryon. He grew up with two siblings, Robert and Beverly. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert, and his son Dale.

David's journey through life was marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a remarkable career. He proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1955 to 1963, demonstrating his commitment to his nation and community. In 1963, he married the love of his life, Mary, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter over their 63 years of marriage.

A man of many talents, David owned and operated a pest control company for over 40 years, and also held a real estate license. He was renowned for his exceptional sales skills, earning a reputation as one of the best salesmen one could ever meet. His professional success was matched by his personal charm and wit, as he was always quick with a joke, using humor to bring his family closer together.

David found great joy in music, movies, and spending time with his loved ones.  He was a great storyteller and would spend hours telling his family of all the unusual things he had done over the years.  Just with you thought you had heard them all, he'd surprise you with something new.  His warmth and love for his family were the cornerstones of his life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; his son Christopher and daughter Katherine; daughter-in-law Mary; son-in-law David; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss his laughter and love.

A man of faith, David and Mary were long-time members of the Northwest Christian Church during their years in Englewood. In the early 1980s, they joined the Normandy United Methodist Church, where they made many lasting friendships and continued their spiritual journey.

David's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. David Lionel Ryon will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
