David N. Phillips, age 81 of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 4, 2020. He was born July 30, 1939 in Barrett, West Virginia son of the late Floyd John and Alma Phillips.
David was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, great uncle, brother, and friend. He was a member of the Masons for many years. He was a beloved horse lover and he passed that down to the next generation. He was a huge Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengal's, and Cleveland Browns fan. David was a United States Army Veteran who proudly served his country. He loved to climb the West Virginia Mountains. David was the biggest story teller in the world. The family called him the "UD" The Uncle Dave who could pull things off that were unimaginable. David will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his late wife, Geneva Phillips; sisters, Velma, Esta, Eloise, and Glenna; and brother, Johnny.
David is survived by his daughter, Dawn Black; grandchildren, Caleb (Emily) Sabourin; niece, BethAnn (Eric) Kohlhorst; great-nieces, Hannah and Rachel Kohlhorst; siblings, Thelma Harold, Lucille (Ernest) Kitchen, Evelyn (Jack) Kinder, Clara Owens; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

David will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Geneva at Valley View Memorial Gardens at a later date.
