David William Krupp

David William Krupp, cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, in Edgewood, Kentucky. Born on November 10, 1947, in Springfield, Ohio, David’s journey was one defined by steadfast devotion—to his family, his country, and the many joys that colored his life.

David’s early years in Springfield shaped a man marked by resilience and purpose. In service to his nation, he answered the call to duty, courageously serving in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and earning the rank of Sergeant. The discipline, camaraderie, and responsibility instilled during these formative years became hallmarks of his character, guiding him throughout his life.

On April 4, 1970, David embarked on his greatest adventure—a marriage to his dearest Margaret. Their union was a testament to abiding love and partnership, spanning more than five decades. As a husband, David was unwaveringly devoted, recognizing in Margaret a confidant and life-long friend who journeyed beside him through life’s joys and hardships.

Family was the cornerstone of David’s world. He was a deeply loving father to Jennifer (Evan) Metyk, finding in her laughter and accomplishments a source of endless pride. In his grandchildren, Kandace Krupp and Madelyn Metky, he delighted in every milestone, every shared story, and every moment that brought the generations closer. David’s affection extended to his brother Richard (Ruth) Krupp and his sister Carol Schuldt, whose bonds of siblinghood endured across the years. His heart widened further for his nieces and nephews—Tom "Pat", Christi, Terry, Carrie, and Stacey—each of whom felt David’s warmth and encouragement. He held close the memories of loved ones gone before him: his mother Ruth Krupp, his father William Krupp, and his nephew Doug, honoring them with stories and remembrance.

David’s career mirrored his reliability and humanity. He retired after many years with the United States Postal Service, a workplace where colleagues became friends and where David’s sense of responsibility shone daily. Upon retirement, David embraced life’s pleasures fully—living each day to the beat of his own drum. He was famed among family and friends for his passion for golf, he often would found out on the fairway relishing both competition and camaraderie. Music, too, filled his heart; its melodies wove through the fabric of his days, offering solace and joy. Ever adaptable and curious, David found joy in technology, and was always up to date on the latest developments. He was also known for his love of history and sharing his knowledge with all around him. 

Those who knew David will remember his fierce love for his family and the depth of his devotion as husband, father, and grandfather. He was a man who lived authentically, embracing his interests, pouring devotion into those he loved, and shaping a legacy defined by humor and integrity.

David’s family invites all who knew and loved him to gather for visitation on August 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, located at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in his honor on August 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights, OH 45424. Following the Mass, David will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery, 101 Riverside Drive, Troy, Ohio.
