David Wayne Jefferis, age 57, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on July 20, 2026. He was born on November 27, 1968, in Dayton, Ohio.
David's greatest joy in life was his family, especially his daughters and grandchildren. He treasured every opportunity to bring them together, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and togetherness. He was a proud father to Haleigh, Kylie, Hannah, Cheyenne, and McKenna, and a loving papaw whose face lit up whenever he was surrounded by his grandchildren.
A true child at heart, David found happiness in the simple things that made life special. He was an avid fan of Star Wars, loved music, and shared his passion as the lead vocalist of the band Decay. His musical tastes ranged from his favorite band, KISS, to the timeless hits of Michael Jackson. Whether he was fishing, enjoying a cookout, or spending time with family and friends, David embraced life with enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit.
David was known for his love of food and cooking, especially his signature sweet spaghetti and salad recipes that always left everyone coming back for seconds. He loved soaking up the sun, rarely passed up a chance for a good tan, and was seldom seen without a Mountain Dew in hand. The holidays brought him immense joy, with Christmas holding a special place in his heart and Thanksgiving a close second. His excitement for celebrating with loved ones was contagious and created lasting memories for all who knew him.
David is survived by his daughters, Haleigh, Kylie, Hannah, Cheyenne, and McKenna; his grandchildren, Kamryn, Greyson, Raelynn, Karlie, Maverick, Levi, Aerilyn, Xander, Lilia, and one cherished grandchild on the way; his father, Daryle Jefferis; his mother, Sue Jefferis; and many other family members and friends who will deeply miss his loving presence, humor, and generous heart. He was also a beloved brother.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, music, family traditions, and countless treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
