David C. Baker

David Carl Baker, 61, of Kettering, OH passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017. David was born on July 13th, 1956 in Dayton, OH to Ralph and Marilyn (Schultz) Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Sue Riley and granddaughter, Brooke Lauren Baker.

Dave was a devoted man of God and attended Kettering Assembly of God church for over 40 years, where he pursued Christ passionately by serving as a youth leader, member of activity and maintenance committee, driving for the bus outreach ministry, working as an alter worker, leading youth fishing derby, serving the need family Christmas outreach, and living as a Godly example to his family and friends.

He also served his community for 30 years inspiring countless lives of youth football and baseball players in the city of Kettering. Dave deeply loved his wife, who recently celebrated 44 years of marriage, his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He created endless memories that will last a lifetime and will be forever cherished. He loved to give, serve, and make a difference in the life of others he came in contact with. Dave Baker was known as the "Champion family man"

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue (Riley) Baker; children, David (Shannon) Baker, Josh (Julie) Baker and Elijah (Tracy) Baker; brothers, Mike and Ralph (Michelle) Baker; sister, Dawn (Kevin) Webb; grandchildren, Trey, Andrew, Joshua, Garrett, Jessica, Grant, Madison, and Eliana; as well as numerous family members and friends
.
A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 9:00am until 12:00pm at Kettering Assembly of God Youth Building, 2250 E. Stroop Rd, Kettering, OH 45440. Services will follow at 12:00pm with Pastor Chuck Sharp, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
