Daryl Eugene Gist

Daryl Eugene Gist, 74, of Centerville, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026. Born in Dayton, Ohio, on December 17, 1951, to E.C. Davidson and Juanita Trammell, Daryl embraced life with vigor.

A proud graduate of Dunbar High School, he excelled in baseball and football. He enjoyed gardening and always made sure his yard looked nice. Despite a sometimes gruff exterior, Daryl's charismatic nature endeared him to many.

He leaves behind his beloved children, Monte Gist, Tammy Gist, and Michael Day; siblings, Tony Gist, Eric Gist, Gerald Gist, Twilla Byrd; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father who raised him, Frank Gist; step-mother, Mattie Gist; and sister-in-law, Crystal Gist.

Daryl's memory will be fondly treasured by all who knew him.
