Darrell Eugene Skinner

Darrell Eugene Skinner, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, at the age of 90 in Dayton, Ohio. Born on February 26, 1935, in Athens, Ohio, Darrell lived a life marked by integrity, compassion, and humor, earning the admiration and respect of all who knew him.

An upstanding man, Darrell was known for his ability to listen and provide guidance when needed. He was dedicated to doing the right thing, showcasing his caring nature through his loving interactions with family and friends. His sense of humor brought joy to many, and his kind heart left a lasting imprint on those fortunate enough to experience his warmth.

Darrell proudly served in the U.S. Army, a testament to his commitment to his country. Upon returning from military service, he embraced family life with vigor. For 64 years, he was the loving husband of Wanda Skinner, with whom he shared countless memories and built a nurturing family environment.

He cherished his role as a father to his children: Robin (Richard) Leet, Rhonda Sue Skinner, and Dale Skinner. Darrell’s legacy continues through his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored and with whom he loved spending time. He found joy watching baseball, engaging in word puzzles, and playing scratch-off tickets.

Darrell is mourned by his siblings, Merna, Bobby, and Danny, who remember him fondly alongside the cherished memories of their late siblings and parents, Fredrick and Gaynell Skinner, and siblings Linda, Darleen, and Jr.

As we reflect upon the life of Darrell Skinner, we remember a man who exemplified love, laughter, and unwavering support. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege to know him, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
