Darrell Clinard, Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 77. Born on September 27, 1947, in Bucyrus, Ohio, Darrell lived a life filled with rich experiences, humor, and countless memories.

After dedicating 30 years to his career at Emery Airlines, Darrell retired and embraced the joys of family and hobbies. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, embodying a spirit of service that informed much of his life. His military experience shaped his character and provided him with stories that would entertain friends and family alike.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Darrell remember him for his very sarcastic and dark sense of humor, which he wielded with an air of generosity. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, exhibiting a giving nature that endeared him to many. 

A passionate dog lover, Darrell cherished the companionship of his beloved pets, Gabby and Lily, throughout the years. He was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, embracing his love for sports with great enthusiasm. His admiration for Ford Mustangs was evident, portraying a connection to the classic and enduring.

Darrell leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter through his surviving family members. He is survived by his daughters, Rachel (Erick) Leonard and Stacey Hall; the mother of his children, Tamara (Richard) Lesley; and his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Hall, Aaron Hall, Sara Clinard, and Rachel Handwerker. Darrell was also a proud great-grandfather to Kaylee Hall, Sam Hall, Mary Moore, Lexi Handwerker, and Noah Handwerker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene Clinard and Hattie Clinard, as well as his son, Darrell Clinard, Jr., and grandson, Dustin Clinard. Darrell's absence will be deeply felt, but his spirit will live on in the stories shared by those who loved him. As we remember Darrell Clinard, we celebrate a life that was as full of humor as it was of kindness, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
