Darnell L. Shontee

Darnell L. Shontee, age 74 of Vandalia, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 23, 2025 in Dayton, Ohio. He was born April 22, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Leroy and Eleanor Shontee.

Darnell was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He retired from Grandview Medical Center after 40 plus years of dedicated employment. He enjoyed listening to music, traveling, and dancing. Darnell's pride and joy was his family and spending as much time with them as he could. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, Darnell was preceded in death by his daughter, Cicely Danette Shontee; wife, Annette Knight; and brother, Roderick Shontee.

He is survived by his children, Antonio Shontee, Erik Shontee, Shatoine May, Jeffrey Lark, and Quartitia Knight; mother of his children, Marsha Crishon; grandchildren, Keyno, Toni, LaShawn, Ton'Ajza, Love, Cherish, Cameron, and Cleveland; great grandson, Ky'Son; siblings, Danette Malone and Jason Shontee; brother-in-law, Eddie Williamson; sister-in-law, Da'Nita Richardson; several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 12pm-1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will be begin at 1pm with burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
