Danielle Spitler, age 97 of Huber Heights, passed away September 26, 2020. She was born September 2, 1923 in Kalisz, Poland to the late Antoine and Janina Pilarski. In addition to her parents, Danielle was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Spitler, Sr.; son, Michael Spitler; brothers and sisters: Henri Pilarski, Janine Hebrard, Edward Pilarski and Irene Gref.
Danielle is survived by her son, Bob (Heidi) Spitler; daughter, Christine (Dale) Eby; grandchildren: Garrett Spitler, Travis Eby, Tyler (Marla) Spitler, Kyle (Amanda) Eby, Devin Spitler, Brianne Eby and Camden Spitler; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Charlotte, Colton, Sabine, Easton and Archer; many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. To Danielle, family was everything.
Danielle married Robert Spitler, a soldier during WWII, in Valenciennes, France. They were married for 70 years, and made numerous trips back to her home country to visit family.
In Huber Heights Danielle and Bob spent many happy times with family and close neighbors. They enjoyed playing cards and just being together. Danielle was a loud, avid Cincinnati Reds fan.
Danielle's family would like to thank Hearth and Home of Vandalia for their loving care and kindness. During her 7 year stay, the entire staff treated Danielle like one of their own family members. As they always said, "She was one in a million!"

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm on Wednesday at Woodland Cemetery, 118 Woodland Avenue, Dayton. Please enter through the main gates and wait in front of the mausoleum for all to arrive. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Danielle's memory to any local veteran's organization.
