Daisy M. Turner, a cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio. She was born on October 2, 1950, in Isola, Mississippi, and spent her life dedicated to her family, her faith, and her profession.
Daisy devoted her career to the culinary arts, serving as a chef all her life before retiring from the Mercy Siena Woods Nursing Facility. Her exemplary work and passion for cooking brought joy and nourishment to many, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the pleasure of enjoying her meals.
Known for her friendly demeanor, sharp wit, and intelligence, Daisy was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her love for her family was deeply felt, and she was a source of strength and wisdom to all who knew her. She embraced her faith wholeheartedly as a devoted member of the Lighthouse Community Church, finding joy in her relationship with the Lord and her church family.
In addition to her impressive culinary skills, Daisy had a green thumb and found great pleasure in tending to her plants. She also enjoyed engaging in conversations, shopping, and sharing stories with her loved ones. Her hard work and commitment to her family and friends will always be remembered.
Daisy leaves behind her son, Tony (Kelly) Turner; her grandchildren, Sha'Tonya Turner, Daniel Turner, Kasey Noble, Toni Nikki Turner, Tony Turner Jr., Robert Turner, Kayla Ankeney, Jasmine Baker, and Jayden Baker; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Georgia Evans, Eliger Watkins, Geraldine Jenkins, Carlester Livingston, Joshua (Cheryl) Watkins, Matthew Watkins, Ethel Lamazon, Keith Bracy, and Leslie Bracy; cousin Ethel Crenshaw; special friend Norma Green; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ezell Bracy; her mother, Caroline Turner; her grandson, Travone Turner; and her brother, Abraham Watkins.
Daisy M. Turner will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, faith, and culinary talent will continue to inspire those she has left behind.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 1-2pm at the Lighthouse Community Church, 4610 Prescott Ave., Dayton, OH 45406. The service will follow at 2pm.
The graveside service will take place on Monday, January 20th at 11am at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton.
