VanSickle, D. Clifford "Cliff", age 97 of Beavercreek, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2016. He was born in Rushville, IN to the late Alva Harlan and Gladys Ruth VanSickle. He proudly and honorably served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII.
Before he entered into the service he married his childhood friend, Sarah Jean, in 1940. He went on to work as a research scientist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where he retired after 35 years of dedicated service. He was a charter member of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Dayton. Cliff was a 33rd degree Mason and Scottish Rite. He was a loving, caring, and compassionate man, who will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Jean VanSickle; daughter, Jodelle (Don) Steeley; grandchildren, Billy and Elizabeth; sister, Marjorie Hunter; and brother, William Robert VanSickle.
Cliff leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughters, Mardena Sue (Jim) Pollock and Deborah Jean (Bill) Clark; grandchildren, Diana, Darren, Sarah Jean, Will, Amy, Donny, and Rob; numerous great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Memorial Presbyterian Church (1541 Smithville Road, Dayton), on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cliff's memory to Memorial Presbyterian Church.
