Cynthia Ann Reynolds

Cynthia Ann Reynolds lived a life woven with love, wisdom, and faith, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to be in her circle. She was born on October 21, 1947, in a close-knit community in Aliquippa, PA, the eldest child of Lucille (Meyers) Griffin and Calvin Coolidge Griffin. She grew up surrounded by family and close friends, creating bonds that would last a lifetime. Known for her kindness, intelligence, and deep faith, Cynthia was a devoted member of Faith Bible Fellowship in Dayton, OH.

Cynthia was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, whose light touched all who were blessed to know her. Her loving parents predeceased her, and she leaves to cherish her memory two devoted brothers, Calvin Griffin, Jr., of San Antonio, TX; Eugene Griffin along with her sister-in-love, Neyra Griffin of Dayton, OH. She also leaves behind her sister, Lucille Posey of Oakland, CA as well as her four treasured children, Brandon Reynolds of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Bryan Reynolds of Cincinnati, Ohio; Davina and Dacyn Reynolds of Dayton, Ohio. Cynthia's spirit continues to live on through her ten adoring grandchildren: Molly, Mason, Owen, Jordynn, Bryana, Bryn’na, Ryan, Alahna, Aiden, and Anna. She treasured every moment spent with them, as they filled her life with light and laughter. Additionally, she created wonderful memories with her many nieces—Jamila, Sharlene, Arlene, and Luddy—as well as her late nephew, Dakarai, and her cousins and special friends, including Movita Pasley-O’Neal, Doris Goforth, Freda Alexander, Dorothy Griffin, and Delores Fultz.

Growing up, Cynthia enjoyed helping at her family’s store on Glenn Street, where she warmly greeted neighborhood children. She shared a special bond with her cousin, the late Jan Pettis-Anderson. After graduating from Hopewell High School in 1968, Cynthia pursued higher education with a fierce determination, earning her teaching degree from Cheney State University in 1972. Showing an impressive aptitude for mathematics and physics, she earned an engineering degree from Kirkwood College. Her mind was sharp, and she had a way of making difficult things seem effortless.

Cynthia’s faith was her foundation. Throughout her life, Cynthia shared God’s love through Bible studies, quiet prayers, and simple acts of kindness. She was there for anyone in need, always willing to listen, encourage, and offer her support. Her humility, compassion, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

From her days in Pennsylvania, New York, Minnesota and Iowa to her years in Ohio, Cynthia’s friends and fellow church members became like family, finding comfort in her steady presence and gentle spirit. Her kindness and warmth made her a beloved friend and neighbor wherever she went.

To know Cynthia was to feel welcomed, understood, and appreciated. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to inspire and uplift her family and friends. May she find eternal peace in the loving arms of her Savior.
