Cynthia (Cindy) Kay Knickrehm, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, was called home on October 12th, 2025. Cindy was born on December 4th, 1956, in Mitchell, SD to William and Rosella Goetsch and was the apple of their eye since the day she was born. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leslie Wayne Goetsch.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Patrick Knickrehm; three children, Leah (Dan) Quinn of Round Rock, TX, Ben Knickrehm of Centerville, OH and Brett Knickrehm of Longmont, CO; four grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob, Noah and Abigail Quinn; brother Bill (Rhonda) Goetsch of Mitchell; sister-in-law Rachel Goetsch and many nieces and nephews.
Cindy loved all things music; singing, theater, musicals and dancing, which was passed down to her children and shown through their love for music. In high school and in college, she participated in choir and starred in numerous musicals, often as the leading lady. During the production of Lil’ Abner at Augustana College, Cindy met her soul mate, Patrick Knickrehm. It was love at first sight with her as Daisy Mae and Pat as Earthquake McGoon, that started a lifelong commitment of true love, devotion and loyalty to one another and their children.
Cindy was a vibrant soul, full of life, love and laughter. One of Cindy’s greatest joy was pouring her time and talents into her family; whether it be through countless hours of driving to sports or music practices, baking the best bars, taking long walks to talk, or creating fun memories through silly snacks and songs, she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She also cherished her Center Stage family where she was able to create new friendships and lifelong bonds through singing.
While her time here on earth doesn’t feel nearly long enough, her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren and their children.
