Craig Eric Howard

Craig Eric Howard, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on September 2, 2026, in Dayton at the age of 56. Born on May 10, 1970, in Dayton, Craig was a familiar and warmly remembered presence whose kindness and energy left a lasting impression on the people around him.

Craig worked for the City of Dayton for 25 years, a reflection of his steady commitment and dedication. Beyond his work, he was known for the joy he brought into everyday life. He was always smiling, never met a stranger, and had a naturally sociable way about him that made others feel welcome. Kind and caring, Craig had a presence that was immediately felt whenever he entered a room, and he had a special way of lighting it up.

He found happiness in the things he loved most. Craig loved football, especially cheering for Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns. He loved to shop, particularly when he could find a good deal, and he had a special love for Christmas. Some of his best moments were spent outdoors, gathered around bonfires with his family, making memories in the simple warmth of being together.

Above all, Craig cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kerrie Howard, with whom he shared 13 years of marriage; step-daughter, Karoline Baldasare; brothers, Torey (Ronda) Howard, Steve (Jennifer) Howard, and Jason (Rebecca) Howard; parents, Timothy and Joy Howard; many nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends. He will be dearly missed by his loving family, who knew well the warmth, laughter, and light he brought into their lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 7:00PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. Family and friends may visit from 5:00PM until the time of service. 

Craig’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and in the many lives brightened by his smile, his kindness, and his unmistakable spirit.
